Take a Little Bit of Pickle Jar Home

The best souvenir from downtown Fredericton is a jar of something we made. We have always been a kitchen that makes things from scratch. The pickles on your plate, the preserves that show up on the board, the hot sauce that quietly becomes the reason you order the same thing twice. All of it starts here, made in small batches by people who take seriously what goes into the jar.

For a while, guests have been asking if they can take that home with them. The answer is yes.

The Pickle Jar pantry is a rotating selection of house-made goods available directly from our restaurant. No shortcuts. No preservatives that belong in a chemistry textbook. Just real ingredients, put together the way we do everything else: carefully, from scratch, with the same attention we give every plate that leaves the pass.

Pickle Jar housemade pickles available at our pickle pantry

It started because the pickles were too good to stay on the table. Guests would finish their meal and ask what was in them, how they were made, and where they could find more. So we started jarring them. Then came the preserves. Then the hot sauce. Each one is an extension of the kitchen, not a gift shop add-on.

Here is what you might find:

  • Spicy Pickled Green Beans

  • Lemon Sesame Pickles

  • Rhubarb Hot Sauce

  • Chef Sarah’s Hot Sauce

  • And many other Pickled seasonal vegetables

The selection changes with the season and with what is coming in from our local suppliers. Some things are regulars, others show up for a few weeks and disappear until next year. If you see something you like, it is worth grabbing two.

Pickle Jar pantry items are available to take home alongside any dine-in visit. You do not need a reservation to pick one up, and you do not need to be a hotel guest. If you are in downtown Fredericton and you want something genuinely made from scratch, come find us at the Hilton Garden Inn.

If you are visiting the city, it is one of the more useful things to pack on your way out. If you are a local, it is a good reason to stop in on a weekday when you are not planning a full meal. Either way, it is the same kitchen, the same recipes, the same care.

Come in for a meal. Leave with something good in your hands!
